Autumn Day along the Ruhr

The Ruhr River passes by the south side of our town. There are lots of paths, bike trails, an old castle ruin, and even some small locks on the river. We took the little ferry boat across the river and had lunch at the locks. My grandmother, who was a huge fan of the Ballard Locks (Hirum Chittenden Locks) in Seattle, would definitely have approved of this outing.
