Wisley Gardens
I'm sorry for the long absence. Our local late-monopoly, British Telecom, only gave us a temporary Internet account, and it has taken us nearly 2 months to get a regular Internet set-up. I love utility companies:-) So, here are some more recent pictures. We've discovered the English Gardens, and WOW are they beautiful! We joined the Royal Horticultural Society, and we have been spending lots of weekends at our local Wisley Gardens. David is a big Fan of the Chicago Botanical Gardens, and he says that Wisley Gardens falls in the same genre of "Ohhhhhh". Since we've been visiting so often, we've really been able to enjoy the rapidly changing colors and textures of autumn. The kids love it, and walking through the acres and acres of beautiful natural space is the perfect stress-buster, especially after trying to talk to the phone company. The glass house has all the cactus, Birds of Paradise, and orchids that we're missing from southern California. This month, the garden is having a focus on Japanese Inspirations. During one of the workshops, the girls got to paint their own paper Japanese kites.
